Digital TV map

Only 6 years ago the TV channels available in most UK homes were just the terrestrial BBC1,BBC2, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5 so visiting a hotel where unfamiliar additional channels (CNN, MSNBC, Bloomberg, Nickelodeon) were available was aspirational even if delivered on a 15' inch Nokiatm traditional CRT screen.

However, with the recent advent of multi channel Freeviewtm and Skytm offering tens of channels at home on the latest widescreen LCD TVs, aspirational has been replaced by ridicule.

TMB Systems has recently launched our innovative digitalhotel TV system offering both Freeview with optional Satellite content to meet your guest expectations.

The Freeview only setup can be enhanced to our digitalhotel TVplus6 or digitalhotel TVplus12 offerings to give 6 or 12 additional satellite channels as well as Freeview. The system can further be enhanced by deployment of the Mediahubs to offer guest connectivity to their PCs or iPods.

The hotel infomation channel with "red button" like features, that the TV will default to on power on, that displays the TV guide, hotel and local information all fully updatable by local hotel staff or remotely via the internet.

The guest device is changing from a traditional laptop to pocket devices such as the iPadtm and iPhonetm as content providers start to agree non copy protection delivery financial models with Apple iTunestm and iCloud as well as rival services from Amazon.

The BBC iPlayer is now also available for Uk users of the Apple iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Nokia N series phones and Nintendo Wii.

Sky, ITV and Channel 4 have also launched their iPlayer like interfaces to stream content.

We can audit your existing infrastructure to discover areas that should be addressed as part of your move to digital hotel TV to ensure a quality sound and picture combination.

This includes

  1. Roof aerial and dish
  2. Cabling from roof to head end
  3. Head end amplifiers and signal modulators
  4. Coax cabling to rooms including taps and splitters
  5. In room television faceplates
  6. TV flyleads to link facplate to TV aerial socket

Our digitalhotel TV solution is based on free to air digital Freeview channels and is upscalable to digitalhotel TVplus if you require multilingual or subscription sports channels to meet your guest mix or to meet brand standards.

These can be a mix of digital satellite such as Sky Astra or Eutelsat Hotbird 6/7A/8.

Thus digitalhotel TVplus is fully customisable to your required specific needs such as offering a free to air Korean news channel to attract overseas visitors to a local Korean owned manufacturing plant.

This also reduces the cost to deploy, as no interface to your Front Office system for billing is required.

We also recommend the guest room TV is added to your in room environmental control system so it is switched off completely every time the guest leaves the room to avoid expensive energy wastage.

We offer a range of hotel TVs from 19 to 42 inch from all the leading hospitality manufactures including LG, Sony, Philips and Samsung all with hotel mode features including :

  1. Limited maximum volume so as not to disturb neighbouring guests.
  2. Lockout from making changes to channel lineup, picture colour and tint.
  3. Clock and wakeup (on selected models).
